Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and what we'll never do with it.
Last updated 1 September 2026.
Who we are
“Impact”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the two operating companies that trade under the Impact name:
- Tenure Partners LLC, doing business as Impact Fundraising, the nonprofit side. Registered as a professional solicitor in the states where it fundraises.
- Last Mile Direct LLC, doing business as Impact Direct, the commercial side.
Each company is the controller of the personal information it collects, and both are operated from our offices in Virginia. If you are not sure which one you dealt with, write to us and we will tell you and answer your request either way.
Who this policy covers
Four groups, with meaningfully different rules:
- Visitors to this website, anyone reading these pages.
- Prospective and current clients, the people who send us a brief or run a campaign with us.
- Job applicants and people in our field teams, anyone who applies to work with us, including by text message.
- Donors and customers signed by our teams, if you gave or subscribed at your door, at a retail location or at a place of business. Read section 08, that data is handled on behalf of the organization you signed up with, not for our own purposes.
What we collect
From website visitors
Pages requested, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, and referring site. This is ordinary server and analytics data. We do not build advertising profiles from it and we do not sell it.
From people who send us a brief
Whatever you type into the form: your name, organization, email address, phone number if you give one, the markets and budget you describe, and anything in the free-text box. Nothing on that form is collected that we do not need to answer you.
From job applicants
Name, contact details including mobile number if you give one, work history and eligibility information, and your responses during hiring. Where a role or a state requires it, background screening is run by a third-party provider with your separate written authorization, and we receive only the result.
From donors and customers signed in the field
The information the campaign requires, typically name, address, contact details, the gift or subscription agreed, and the record of the verification conversation. See section 08.
How we use it
- To reply to you and to prepare the plan you asked for.
- To run hiring: assessing applications, arranging interviews, onboarding, and meeting the record-keeping the law requires of an employer.
- To deliver campaigns for our clients, and to verify and report on the work.
- To meet legal obligations, charitable solicitation registration, public utility commission requirements, payroll and tax, and responding to a regulator or a complaint.
- To keep the site secure and working.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
SMS and text messaging
This section applies if you gave us your mobile number and separately agreed to receive text messages, either on one of our application or enquiry forms or by texting a keyword to one of our numbers. We do not text anyone who has not asked us to, and we never buy, rent or import phone numbers from anybody.
We do not share, sell, rent or transfer mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data or consent records to any third party or lead generator, for marketing or promotional purposes, at any time.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
The only exception is the messaging provider that delivers the texts on our behalf, for example Twilio, which may process your number solely to send the message and is not permitted to use it for anything else.
Your consent belongs to the conversation you gave it in. It is not transferable. If this business were ever sold or reorganized, mobile numbers and SMS consent records would not pass to the buyer as consent to message you — anyone wanting to text you would have to ask you again.
How consent works
- Consent is given by actively ticking an unticked box on our form, or by texting a keyword to us. It is never pre-selected and never bundled into agreement to anything else.
- Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of employment, of applying, of being hired, or of receiving any service from us.
- We text you about the thing you asked about, recruiting and scheduling if you applied, campaign operations if you work with us. We do not send marketing texts to applicants.
Frequency, cost and stopping
- Message frequency varies, and will not exceed 8 messages per month.
- Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier sets those, not us.
- Reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time. You will receive one confirmation, and your number goes on a suppression list so it is not messaged again.
- Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us using section 12.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
If you gave or subscribed at your door
When one of our teams signs you up, we are working for a named organization, a charity, a utility, a service provider. That organization decides what happens to your information. We collect and handle it on their behalf and under contract, and we do not use it to market anything of our own to you.
- Your details are passed to that organization, which becomes responsible for your ongoing relationship, including the privacy notice that governs it.
- We keep the record of the sign-up and its verification for as long as we are required to, so a complaint or a query can be investigated properly.
- If you want your details deleted, corrected, or your gift or subscription canceled, contacting that organization is the fastest route, but you can contact us instead and we will pass it on and tell you we have.
If you believe someone misrepresented themselves at your door, contact us using section 12. Give us the date and the address and we can identify the individual.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and briefs: three years from our last contact with you, then deleted.
- Applications that do not result in hiring: one year from the decision, which is the minimum federal employment law requires, then deleted.
- Employment records: four years after employment ends, which covers the federal payroll and tax retention periods.
- SMS consent records: four years after you opt out. We keep these because we have to be able to prove consent existed for as long as anyone could raise a claim about it.
- Campaign and verification records: seven years, or longer where a client contract or a state charitable solicitation rule requires it.
- Server and analytics logs: thirteen months.
Where a period above is a minimum, we delete at the end of it unless a live dispute, investigation or legal hold means we cannot. If that happens we keep only what the hold covers.
Your choices and your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and ask us to stop contacting you. Text messages stop with a single word, as set out in section 05.
Residents of Virginia, California and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have additional rights, to access, correct, delete, obtain a copy, and to appeal a decision we make about such a request. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front. Exercising any of these rights will never cause us to treat you worse.
To make a request, use section 12. We may need to verify who you are before we act, and we will respond within 45 days, or tell you why we need longer, which the law allows us to do once.
If we refuse a request, you can appeal. Reply to our decision, or write to [email protected] with the word “appeal”, and a different person will review it and answer you within 60 days. If we still refuse, we will tell you how to complain to your state Attorney General. Virginia residents can contact the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia directly at any time.
Security, children, and other sites
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
This site and our campaigns are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.
Our site links to other sites. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the page.
